Welcome to our Isle of Lewis holiday cottages

We know that no two visitors – and no two holidays – are ever the same, so whether you want to see us regularly or not at all, whether you’re out all day every day, maybe walking the coastal route to Bosta which passes both Atlantic View Cottage and Valasay Crofthouse, or just busy doing nothing in front of the fire in your home from home, we’ll try our best to make sure that the holiday you really want is the holiday you have. Our latest property, Achmore Cottage is only a 15 minute drive to Stornoway but still offering wonderful panoramic views from the cottage and is on the route of the Hebridean Way.

** Coronavirus Update 13/04/2021** It has been announced by the Scottish Government that tourism will be allowed on the islands from the 26th of April. We will be opening at the same time as the rest of Scotland and travel from England and Wales is welcome too. As we are in level 3 initially, there will be a few restrictions see here, except for the one about staying in self-catering accommodation which is being lifted, but it is hoped we will move down a level within just a few weeks.

Our postcode is HS2 9NB and you can check the restrictions in place for us here.  IMPORTANT  For those planning to travel by ferry, Calmac has changed the rules on booking in light of 1 metre socialising change. See here. You can find the summer timetable which is in place until October 17th 2021 for Ullapool-Stornoway here and for Uig-Tarbert here. Facecoverings are currently mandatory on ferries and aircraft and in all shops and enclosed spaces.

Please note that this advice will take priority over the guidance  from the UK Government. Please also look at the advice from the Ferry operator and airline.  Visitors coming from outwith the UK, will be required to isolate in supervised quarantine hotels for 10 days and take tests on 2 days during quarantine. See here

We are happy to take bookings all year round. We have changed our booking terms for any new bookings this year. We will now ask for a refundable 10% deposit, and the request for balance payment will be 4 weeks prior to holiday start date. If you already have a reservation which is affected by Covid-19 we will happily move it to another date of your choice, or, if you’d prefer, refund any payment you’ve made. We will maintain the high standards of cleanliness you have come to expect of us, and will use antiviral products when cleaning.
In return, we ask you to support the tourism industry on these islands as the economy is fragile at the best of times. If you would consider a holiday when safe to travel this year, please register your interest here.

We are very proud to have achieved 4 star rating, awarded by VisitScotland, in all three of our self-catering properties. If, like us, you value quality accommodation in a setting of natural beauty , then we think you’ll love Lewis Cottages too.

Our aim is to make sure you have a fantastic self-catering holiday on the Isle of Lewis, so if there’s anything you’d like to know about the area or about booking the properties then please, ask away. It’s why we’re here …
